Fire and Ice
by Danilo Stern-Sapad
A powerful symphonic metal track about opposing forces, passion and coldness, destruction and preservation.
[Verse 1]
Some say the world will end in fire,
A blazing inferno, a burning pyre.
From what I’ve tasted of desire,
I hold with those who favor fire.
[Verse 2]
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate,
To say that for destruction, ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
[Verse 3]
In the flames of passion, hearts ignite,
Consuming all within their sight.
A fervor wild, a fevered blaze,
The fire dances in a fiery haze.
[Verse 4]
In the chilling depths of ice’s grasp,
A world in stillness, frozen fast.
The cold can break, the cold can bind,
A silent end to humankind.
[Verse ]
In fire’s embrace, in ice’s chill,
The end will come, as fate’s own will.
Desire’s flame or hate’s cold spite,
Both lead to darkness, endless night.
[Outro]
Fire and ice, the world’s demise,
In the end, no compromise.
A tale of passion, a tale of hate,
Both sealing humanity’s fate.
About:
A warning about the extremes of hate and passion and their potential for destruction.
Lyrics inspired by Robert Frost’s poem, “Fire and Ice”.
